DICE Electronics has released an update for its car audio kits that supports iOS5, which allows for some new car radio controls and features.

DICE BMW PandoraSaid DICE’s Steve Witt, “Based on what we know, in OEM integration, we’re the first to announce full iOS5 compatibility with all our current hardware.”

With DICE’s MediaBridge, Silverline DUO and universal kits, when you listen to Pandora you can now skip a track using the radio’s next track button.

Also, the Livio Car Internet Radio app now lets you preset Internet radio stations by pressing the disc 1-6 buttons on the car’s radio.

Both of these apps display song information on the car radio’s display.

The kits generally let you connect an iPod or iPhone to the car radio for music and other features which depending on the kit, include adding Sirius radio, Bluetooth and Livio Radio.

The kits will also now permit use of Siri voice software if the car has a “voice” button as on a BMW, where a voice button is located on the steering wheel controls, said DICE.

To get the upgrade, users plug the kit module into the USB port on their computer and download a firmware update. DICE’s web site will automatically recognize the device and download the appropriate upgrade.
