Internet Radio in New Cars on Way with Livio

Internet radio may soon be commonplace in factory car radios as Livio has struck a deal with chipmaker CSR, the leading supplier of Bluetooth chips for autos.

Car Internet Radio via LivioThrough Livio software, the chips in the car radio will work with apps on your phone.  Users will be able to receive thousands of Internet radio streams without having to touch their smartphone.

Livio aggregates Internet radio from 977 Music, AccuRadio, Digitally Imported, Grooveshark, jacAPPS, Live365, the Livio Car Internet Radio App and Rdio and it makes it possible to control the smartphone from the car radio with its Livio Connect API.

CSR is offering Livio software for one of its Bluetooth chip solutions ( CSR BC5MM ) now and will extend to other chips in the future, it said.
