A new Satellite Radio 2.0 portable called the Lynx was listed on Best Buy’s web site as “Coming Soon,” offering some advanced features and the ability to connect to a car kit.
The Android-based Lynx was shown with a multi-touch screen, and WiFi capability as well as pause, rewind and “play live content” features.
It was described as the SXi1 at $249 before Best Buy took down the listing. (If you Google “Sirius XM Lynx portable” you can see the “shell” of the listing).
Best Buy displayed the device as measuring 2.5 by 4.5 inches and ½ inch thick. It delivers extra channels and has a battery life of up to 30 hours.
For the car, it may be used with a SiriusXM LVI “vehicle kit.” A home kit and portable speaker dock was also listed.
Sirius XM distributor, Audiovox, said earlier this week that Satellite Radio 2.0 devices would ship by the end of November.
