Alpine Electronics Research of America announced it will open a new research center in the U.S. to study cloud technology in the car and other emerging in-vehicle technologies.
The center will be located within the Alps Electric Co. U.S. facility in the San Jose region in October. It joins the current research center of Alpine Electronic Research of America, an affiliate of Alpine Electronics, in Torrance.
“Our new San Jose research center will play a key role in growing our in-vehicle cloud business and smartphone linking services, so being located in such an innovative region is an asset,” said Hidenori Hidaka, president of Alpine Electronics Research of America. “This office will allow us to work even more closely with our development partners to create new solutions that can be applied to our OEM and aftermarket products.”
