Toyota announced today that it will offer HD Radio and iTunes Tagging in the 2012 Camry, which ships this fall.
Toyota is the 19th brand to offer HD Radio, joining Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, MINI USA, Rolls-Royce, Scion, Subaru, Tesla, Volkswagen and Volvo.
About 9 million Camrys have sold to date and currently 6.8 million Camrys are on the road, says Toyota, which claims that Camrys stay on the road longer than any other car.
HD Radio provides clear digital sound and access to additional stations as well as on-screen information for song titles and artist names. As of today there are over 2,000 stations broadcasting with HD Radio technology and 1,300 extra HD Radio channels on the air as HD Radio permits broadcasters the added bandwidth to offer more stations.
