NAV-TV and Directus have joined forces to create the first add-on back up camera and navigation system for the Dodge/Chrysler/Fiat Uconnect Touch 4.3-inch touch screen radio.
The system includes a NAV-TV UCI-11C integration module and an optional Directus navigation module plus an optional rear view camera. You can also add a Directus wireless Internet and WiFi option to the touch screen.
Once the system is installed, the car’s touch screen will control all navigation and rear view camera functions and it will retain all the factory functions such as AC, radio and CD player.
It works with the Uconnect 4.3 and 8.4-inch screens for the 2011 / 2012 Dodge Charger, Dodge Journey, Fiat Freemont and Chrysler 300.
The product is the first collaboration between Directus and NAV-TV and will lead to future joint products.
“Our companies really seem to complement each other and the Uconnect Touch project is the first of many more strategic projects we have identified for 2011 and beyond,” said Directus CEO Brad Chapple.
The Uconnect Touch aftermarket system will ship at the end of August and will be on display at MERA Knowledgefest, August 28th – 30th, 2011 in Dallas, TX at the NAV-TV and Directus booths. You can see a video of the product here.
