We didn’t make it into New York City to see the unveiling of the latest Taurus SHO, but Sony was there because the 2013 Ford will feature a Sony premium sound system with a subwoofer.
Continuing Sony’s alliance Ford, the system includes a custom built subwoofer enclosure “and the standard plethora of tweeters and woofers that we’ve come to expect from Ford and Sony’s previous car audio partnerships,” said CNET. You also get Sync with MyFord Touch.
Both Sony and Ford were short on details about the system and the new car which lends a Mustang-type look to the Taurus (with some Fiesta and Focus thrown in).
Other features offered include heated steering wheel, massaging seats, push button start, auto brights, rain-sensing wipers, rear view camera, and rear window power sunshade, parking assist, adaptive cruise control, collision warning with brake support, and blind spot detection, reported Chip Chick.
The car goes into production in 2012 sporting a twin-turbocharged V-6 engine with 365 horsepower (the same as the 2010 model). No word on price yet.
