Steelmate USA changed the displays for its back up sensor systems so you get a digital readout plus an OEM style slim display.
New models that use the displays include the 4-sensor PTS400M7. The display mounts on the top of the mirror. When not in use, it appears invisible until the car goes into reverse and the lights come on. A PTS400M8 includes a display that mounts on the rear on the package shelf, headliner or elsewhere. It has a removable cover that can match the interior of the car.
Another model, the PTS800MM78 uses 8 sensors: 4 in the front and 4 in the rear and has front and rear displays. It’s aimed at luxury cars and SUVs.
The back up sensor systems ship April 1 at MAP pricing ranging from $150 to $380 (not including installation).
