Rockford to resell Panasonic radiosThe two new radios—at $99 and $139—will be joined by additional models in Q3 and Q4 this year, said Rockford.

Specifically, Rockford has partnered with Pana-Pacific to offer the Panasonic radios to Rockford’s dealers.

Rockford’s chief Bill Jackson said the Panasonic product would be “sheltered” and “profitable,” for retailers.

Rockford will provide all technical support and customer service as well as warranty service for the Panasonic products.

  1. I was told these units will be dealer only & NOT in Best Buy… & NOT on the internet…

  2. BUT ROCKFORD IS BEST BUYS CHOICE OF PRODUCT NOW WITH KICKER AND PANASONIC. SO, WHERES THE PROFIT PERIOD PLUS, WHERES QUALITY. ONLY BIG BOX STORE QUALITY NOW!

  3. I agree with Kevin. I guess when you make between $7 and $22 a unit in “profit” it is subject to interpretation if that can really be defined as profit – all things considered. Of course, at those levels if you do as much volume as Walmart or Fry’s or Best Buy, maybe you can consider those numbers to be profitable. I still do not see any reason for an independent to sell a stereo below $150!

  4. Consumers just love it when we try to “shelter” products to make then “profitable”. Good luck with that.

  5. I guess Bill Jackson and I have different opinions on profitable.

    $99 and $139 units…
