Apple said it sold 7.33 million iPads during its fiscal first quarter ending December 25.
It’s iPhone sales were up 86 percent over the year ago quarter to 16.24 million units. Mac sales rose 23 percent to 4.13 million. Only iPod sales declined to 19.45 million units, down seven percent.
Apple posted record revenue of $26.74 billion and a record net profit of $6 billion.
This compared to revenue of $15.68 billion for the year ago quarter and a net profit of $3.38 billion. International sales accounted for 62 percent of revenue for the quarter.
“We had a phenomenal holiday quarter with record Mac, iPhone and iPad sales,” said CEO Steve Jobs.“We are firing on all cylinders and we’ve got some exciting things in the pipeline for this year including iPhone 4 on Verizon which customers can’t wait to get their hands on.”
