Toyota introduced its answer to the Ford Sync just prior to the Consumer Electronics Show.
Named Entune, Toyota’s new car radio platform connects to your smartphone to deliver apps including Bing, iheartradio, Pandora, OpenTable.com and MovieTickets.com.
Entune is an option that will be available on select Toyota models this year. The radio includes XM satellite radio and HD Radio, plus USB connectivity, Bluetooth and a CD player. You can also get a JBL sound system as an option.
Users also get access to traffic, fuel prices, stocks, weather and sports.
Toyota says its voice recognition system is “advanced conversational” and “best in class.”
The car maker also offers a safety and telematics system for auto collision notification, roadside assistance and stolen vehicle location on some models.
Traffic information for Entune is supplied by INRIX.
