Toyota Intro’s Ford Sync Rival

Toyota introduced its answer to the Ford Sync just prior to the Consumer Electronics Show.

Named Entune, Toyota’s new car radio platform connects to your smartphone to deliver apps including Bing, iheartradio, Pandora, OpenTable.com and MovieTickets.com.

Toyota Entune Ford Sync Rival Introduced at CESThe system uses voice control so you don’t have to touch the phone while driving. It also reads aloud your text messages or replays them.

Entune is an option that will be available on select Toyota models this year. The radio includes XM satellite radio and HD Radio, plus USB connectivity, Bluetooth and a CD player. You can also get a JBL sound system as an option.

Users also get access to traffic, fuel prices, stocks, weather and sports.

Toyota says its voice recognition system is “advanced conversational” and “best in class.”

The car maker also offers a safety and telematics system for auto collision notification, roadside assistance and stolen vehicle location on some models.

  1. So I wonder if you can tell it to make the gas pedal stick thru Entune, or if that still has to be done VIA Toyota’s other faulty electronics? Too soon?
