Cobra’s new radar detector works with an iPhone, using the iPhone’s larger display and GPS capabilities to give you radar detector information.
The Cobra iRadar detector uses Bluetooth to link to the iPhone and a new iPhone app (Cobra iRadar App).
The iPhone then becomes a large touch screen display for the detector. You get radar and laser detector visual and audible alerts, and warnings for speed and red light cameras.
The detector’s 12-volt power cord has a built in USB port so you can continue to charge the iPhone while you drive.
There’s a windshield kit for the radar detector. An optional car mounting kit for the iPhone will be offered as well as a hardwire kit for the detector. The detector is shipping now at $169.95.
