For one day, October 11, during the KnowledgeFest car stereo show, all retail installers will be offered free admission so they may attend installer educational workshops.
Car electronics installers will also be able to attend a Monday night football party as well as an industry awards dinner on the Sunday prior.
“A more educated installer is not only good for the business they work for, but is good for the entire industry” said Mike Dixon, head of education at MERA (the Mobile Electronics Retailers Association), which sponsors KnowledgeFest.
The aim is to encourage installers at the nearly 400 retail shops within driving distance from the Dallas show to attend the event. A special registration category has been setup on the www.knowledgefest.org website designed for the installer-only one day pass.
Also at the show, Sirius XM will give away 2 guitars autographed by celebrities to those retailers who attend its workshops. One guitar will be signed by Aerosmith lead man Steven Tyler and the other by Guns n Roses guitarist Slash. Sirius XM will also give away a football autographed by Joe Namath and a framed and signed poster of Howard Stern and his staff.
