Sirius XM is awaiting FCC approval on an “XM Snap” palm sized satellite radio device. It can link to a car radio either wirelessly via FM transmitter or a wired connection via audio cable, FM Direct or cassette adapter, says SlashGear, which suggests the unit may come to market in less than 2 months. No further details on the Snap were available.
Also, Satellite Radio Playground is reporting that all production on Sirius dock and play radios ceased late last month. Radios discontinued include the Sportster 5, Starmate 5, and Stratus 6.
Sirius XM has not yet responded to our inquiry on the products.
