JVC Kenwood Holdings Inc, the company resulting from the merger of JVC and Kenwood late in 2008, is licensing its JVC brand to TVs that will be sold Africa, Russia and Latin America to bolster revenue.

The company will start by selling JVC-branded LCD TVs through an electronics distributor in Argentina in December, according to the Nikkei newspaper.

The distributor is expected to sell about 100,000 JVC TV sets a year for royalties estimated at hundreds of millions of yen.

When JVC Kenwood Holdings formed, it announced it sought to make car electronics (OEM and retail) it chief category.
