Verizon Wireless and Motorola said the Droid X smartphone will go on sale Thursday through Verizon for $200 after mail-in rebate with a 2-year contract.
As noted this week, the device may benefit from spot shortages on other leading smarthones including the iPhone, HTC EVO and HTC Incredible. The device has received positive reviews from several media outlets.
Verizon calls the Droid X a “home theater in your pocket.” It has a 4.3-inch high res screen, 8 MP camera with 720p video capture, HDMI output and HD video. It also uses a 1GHZ processor and it can serve as a WiFi hotspot for five other devices if you pay an extra $20 per month.
