Borders Reacts to Lower eReader Prices

In apparent reaction to the price moves from Barnes & Noble and then Amazon Monday on 3G eReaders, Borders Tuesday said its $150 Kobo eReader will come bundled with a $20 Borders gift card.
Borders also said the Kobo will come with double Borders Bucks that can be used towards a future Borders purchase. The bookseller notes that high price continues to block wider eReader adoption, according to the Boston Consulting Group which found that the sweet spot for eReaders is between $100 and $150. Borders sells eReaders such as Libre at $120 and the $150 Kobo. The latter offers Bluetooth or USB downloading (but not WiFi or 3G). It has a 6-inch screen and comes pre-loaded with 100 books.
