Barnes and Noble may be preparing to release new nook eReaders and it told Bloomberg it should offer a fix this week for current nooks that tend to freeze up while in use.
Hundreds of posts on message boards indicated that many users find their nook will freeze, often when the device is put in sleep mode.
The software update may also add a web browser and games.
The rumored new nooks will include a WiFi-only “nook lite” model that will forgo the current devices’ 3G capability and it may cost only $199 said Gizmodo. A second new nook may also be offered this year.
Best Buy began selling the nook this weekend (April 18).
