Yikes. Today Google told us it is testing the broadband business in a limited trial to up to a half million homes. It will deliver fiber optic connections at data speeds more than 100 times faster than what most of us use. Google wants to do this to permit “ultra high speed” apps into the home or a hospital or school, it said. This is the territory of Comcast and Verizon. Yesterday Google went after Facebook.
