Hoping to expand its OEM car video sales, Audiovox Corporation purchased INViSiON Industries, it announced today.
Audiovox acquired the assets of INViSiON, a leading maker of rear seat entertainment products for OEMs, car dealers and ports, for an undisclosed sum. The purchase was made by a new Audiovox subsidiary named Invision Automotive Systems (IAS).
Two of the assets expected to help Audiovox are INViSiON’s strong relationships with car makers and its patent portfolio—the largest in the industry—according to INViSiON.
Patrick Lavelle, president and CEO of Audiovox said the purchase “…will enhance our position as a significant supplier to the OE market by adding increased R&D capabilities, a manufacturing facility and an established support team to augment our own OE group.”
The new IAS division will report to Tom Malone, president of Audiovox Electronics and it will continue to operate out of its own facilities in Florida.
Among the products produced by INViSiON are “FactoryMatch DVD Headrests,” overhead monitors and center console systems, according to its web site.
I totally support that! Continue that way!
This is definitely a excellent issue you have created. It will be interesting to give it a go personally and observe if I find that very same conclusion.
I will certainly retain a great eye on this particular line and hopefully I can easily take hold of various more details!
