Soundstream Reserve, a MAP protected brand from Epsilon, is launching a wireless CarPlay/Android Auto radio for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. It has an 8.3 inch screen, the largest in the aftermarket, said Soundstream Reserve.
The V2 radio is iDatalink Maestro compatible to retain Harley features and SiriusXM ready. It has an advanced headset intercom system with mode selection for the driver and passenger. The radio has a Bluetooth broadcast feature that can share music with an unlimited number of other bikes within 330 meters of the radio (Rally Mode). It also includes built-in iGo navigation.
Under the headset system, the rider can select from navigation, music and phone call modes. The passenger can choose from modes other than phone.
“This is the result of a year’s worth of listening to guys on the forum. Even if one guy had an option he wanted to see, we put it on the list to consider,” said Epsilon VP Sales Ronnie Brashear. “On board navigation– even though they have CarPlay, they worry about losing the connection.”
Brashear added, “We use an 8-layer PC board. That’s unheard of in car stereo. It helps clean up the sound on the RCA outputs and speaker outputs, and with 8 layers there’s room for more electronics.”
The Soundstream Reserve V2 radio is designed for 2014 and up Harley-Davidson touring motorcycles. It is expected to ship in April at a MAP of $1,599.
