Ground Zero is shipping a new super high end series named “Ultra,” which includes a mega amplifier and a speaker component set, both of which won EISA awards last year.
The new Ultra A-2 amplifier was developed with a no expense cap, said Peter Unterharnscheidt, Managing Director of Ground Zero in Germany, speaking on the show floor at KnowledgeFest.
The A-2 is a 2 channel, dual mono Class AB model, where the two sides of the amplifier have separate power supplies and “perfect channel separation.” They are rated at 450 watts per channel but can bench test as high as 680 watts. Signal to noise ratio is over 115dB.
Premium features of the A-2 include adjustable bias and optional water cooling to keep its temperature optimal. Suggested retail price is $7,000.
Also now shipping is the Ultra component set of two way speakers to match the amplifier. The 6.5 inch mid/bass uses a new carbon fleece material rather than the typical woven material, for a lighter but stiffer cone. It has an open basked design and handles 150 watts.
The Ultra 30mm tweeter handles up to 30KHz and down to 1kHz for an ultra wide bandwidth. The tweeter housing has a wave guide on the front, borrowing a feature found in home audio components. The Ultra speaker system has a suggested retail price of $5,000.
I have been wanting to water cool an amp rack for so long. I want more info on this water cooling feature.
