KENWOOD USA is shipping this week a 10.1-inch “MEGA” deck geared to recreational vehicles and trucks.

The large display on the new DNR1008RVS has more than twice the viewing area of a typical 7” display.  It uses special features to improve the screen’s performance including a “Bonded Optical Display” and the addition of Optical Clear Adhesive between the touch screen and the LCD to eliminate the air layer and suppress light reflection and glare.

The capacitive touch screen has a resolution of 1280 x 720 (720P).

The DNR1008RVS includes CarPlay and Android Auto–either a wireless or wired.  It also has an HDMI input and wireless screen mirroring from an Android phone.  It is SiriusXM capable and is ADS Maestro compatible to retain factory features. It has 4 camera inputs.

The deck uses Garmin navigation with the addition of truck specific features such as bridge height warnings and search modes for RV parks.

The navigation screen can be displayed on a secondary monitor, such as an overhead screen, by using the receiver’s AV-Output and a composite video cable (sold separately).

Additional features include:

  • RV & TRUCK SETTINGS PROFILE: Vehicle-specific settings such as Width, Length, Height, Gross Weight, Number of Trailers, etc. can be input to improve map routing performance.
  • RV & TRUCK SEARCH MODES: RV or Truck selectable search modes include popular queries such as PlanRV Services, PlanRV Parks, Campground or RV Park, TruckDown, and Trucking search selections.
  • BRIDGE HEIGHT WARNINGS: Bridge clearance alerts will be displayed based on the vehicle profile information that has been entered into the receiver. Bridges that are lower than the vehicle

The floating panel design of the DNR1008RVS consists of a 3-way adjustable display: 2 positions Forward/Backward (fixed by screws), 4 positions Up/Down (fixed by screws), and user-adjustable tilt by -10° to +45°.

The navigation system includes traffic, 3D buildings and landmarks, life-like terrain views, and photo real junction view to display complex intersections.

Additional features include 3 sets of 4-volt pre-outs, a 13 Band EQ with time alignment, parametric EQ, 3-way crossover, and dual-zone A/V controls. High-Resolution Audio is supported over its USB connection.

KENWOOD did not announce pricing.
