Alpine Update on Wireless CarPlay

Alpine Wireless CarPlay

Alpine Electronics now expects that shipment of its much anticipated iLX-107–the first wireless CarPlay deck for any car–will be delayed by 30 days.

Alpine said the deck is currently expected to ship in April due to delays in the Apple certification process.

Alpine remains the first an only aftermarket company to announce a wireless CarPlay deck.  The iLX-107 automatically launches CarPlay without a cord connection to the radio.  It simply recognizes an iPhone in your pocket or purse via a WiFi connection.

The iLX-107 is a mechless deck (no CD/DVD) at a suggested $900.  It has a 7-inch screen and AM/FM radio and is only 3 inches deep.  It can work with an iDatalink Maestro model to retain factory features such as GM OnStar or Ford SYNC.

The iLX-107 was first unveiled at CES and won a CES Innovation Award.

  1. The iLX-107 also supports Alpine’s accessory controller (KAC-001) for use with any 12 volt accessory.
