Firstech, makers of Compustar and Arctic Start, announced that users of its DroneMobile remote start-from-a-phone service and its GPS tracking service can now pay through automated monthly billing.
Most remote start telematics services are billed in annual up-front costs. But Firstech says this can be a burden to a first-time buyer who is paying for hardware, installation and annual service fees all at once. Plus consumers are now used to monthly recurring charges due to services like Netflix, said Firstech’s Justin Lee.
DroneMobile will come with a 30-day trial and at any time during that period, consumers can select a plan, either monthly or yearly. They will be billed automatically if they choose a monthly plan.
DroneMobile plans start at $5.99/month and come in four levels of service: Basic, Premium, Business, and Business Plus.
The company says it is the only remote start maker offering a monthly billing option.
