Blackhawk RES may soon become a smartwatch that can remote start a car from any location and perform other smart functions.

The watch will make its debut at the SEMA Show at the 2014 SEMA Launchpad Competition.  Samuel Giles, who founded the Blackhawk RES, is one of 5 finalists in the competition.

Also, during the SEMA show, on November 4, the Blackhawk RES will launch on Indiegogo, seeking to raise $50,000. Giles is also looking to sell through car audio installers and distributors as the watch is part of a complete 12 volt package including an in-car remote start module that can work with optional Fortin or ADS bypass modules.

The Blackhawk RES will also unlock/lock doors, open the trunk and perform GPS tracking. It can also serve as smaller screen for your phone with caller ID for incoming calls (for both Android and iPhone users). For Android users, it can also receive texts.

The watch uses a JAVA operating system and it has a battery life of about 4-5 days. It is expected to retail for about $749 for the full watch and in-car module/GPS package. Those who buy on Indiegogo will receive free annual service for one or two years.
