CT Sounds said it has come full circle after starting as a car stereo Internet seller, and is now operating as a select distribution brick and mortar supplier.
Its lower priced amplifiers have been scrubbed from the web including models in 500.1, 750.1, 900.1, 1400.1, 60.4, and 75.4 configurations. It’s Tropo and Strato subwoofer will not be offered on the Internet.
A few higher end CT Sounds amplifiers are still available through Internet sellers, but at higher prices than found at brick and mortar, said the company. A 3,000 watt amplifier sells for $1,199 on the web and $999.99 in stores.
“We have this item $200 cheaper than on the Internet. That is unheard of these days,” said Coleman Thedinger, 21-years old, who founded CT Sounds as Audio Technix in 2010 and changed its name to CT Sounds and Execution Audio in March of 2013. It began a retail-focus in September of last year.
Thedinger hopes CT Sounds will achieve roughly $3.6 million in sales this year.
The company is bypassing manufacturer reps and distributors and working directly with dealers. It’s looking to keep a tight control over product flow to prevent online discounting, said Thedinger.
He’s hoping to expand beyond a current count of 95 car audio specialists.
Depending on the population of the town, CT Sounds gives authorized dealers a 50 mile protected territory, or an area of 250,000 in population.
He offers a “no questions asked” 1-year warranty on amplifiers. “You can hook it up backwards and break it and we’ll send you a brand new one,” said Thedinger.
Amplifiers range in street price from $199.99 to $1,899.99. A key feature is a bass knob with a built in voltage meter and on/off switch that can be mounted within reach of the driver to easily turn the amp on and off.
Subwoofers include a super high power handling 8-inch subwoofer (800 watts RMS), called the Meso at $209.99.

I used to own and operate a car stereo shop about 15 years ago. I got out of it because of the weakening economy coupled with fading interest from consumers. I love the craft and miss it very much, I would love to see it start to flourish again, I would jump right back in! I think this is a great idea and the equiptment looks great! I would love to hear how it performs?
