VOXX and Automobility are offering remote start systems that work with a Thinkware dashcam to offer live dashcam views of the car on demand. The suppliers offer some of the connected dashcam features at no charge.
VOXX’s CarLink, which adds remote-start-from-a-phone to a remote start system, can now connect to a Thinkware F790AIR dashcam to show views in and around the car in real time (parked or on the road) and provide crash notifications through the CarLink app. It also lets users play or download front or rear view dashcam footage from within the CarLink app without needing to be in range of the car.
A VOXX interface module connects between the CarLink and Thinkware dashcam. All are bundled in a single overpackage that is expected to ship in about 30 days.
AutoMobility Distribution offers a similar system for the Canadian market. Its MyCarTM2 connected car system also now works with the Thinkware F790AIR dashcam. It delivers real time crash notifications, video alerts, and on-demand footage through the MyCar2 app without recurring airtime fees.

CarLink itself requires an annual fee after the first year starting at $49.95 for premium service and up to $99.99 a year for premium plus subscribers. Users get parking event notifications and early crash warning notification at no additional charge. Premium plus subscribers also get free unlimited requests for on-demand live video, as well as map trips, geo fencing, trip start/stop speed and low battery alerts.
MyCarTM2 does not charge annual fees and also offers unlimited parking event notifications and early crash warning at no charge. For live on-demand check-ins of the car, there is a one-time fee of $99.99, for premium service, which also provides map trips, geo fencing, trip start/stop speed and low battery alerts.
