Diamond Audio released its new DMDX speakers featuring concentric tweeters and shallow mounting depth. At first glance, they are reminiscent of speaker designs more often seen in the past. Diamond Audio added its own twist on this classic design.
The DMDX speakers use a dimpling patterned cone. Dimpled cones have been used by many home audio speakers, as dimpling increases structural rigidity without adding weight, and reduces cone distortion and results in a distinctive and recognizable cone pattern and cone color.

DMDX speakers come in all the standard sizes from 3.5- to 6.5-inches, as well as oversized 6.75-, 6×8- and 6×9-inch speakers. All speakers from 3.5 – 6.5-inches offer a very shallow mounting depth under 1.85 inches for a versatile installation.

Diamond Audio decided to step away from the traditional coaxial design, to enhance sound quality and imaging. Concentric or Point Source tweeters mounted in the center of the woofer create a single point source for sound, ensuring that high and low frequencies arrive at your ears at the same time for better imaging and soundstage.
The new DMDX speakers have a suggested retail price ranging from $89 to $279.99.

Looks nice. Each only handles 25 – 45 watts so they would be a good OEM replacement.
Thanks for the report, James!
