AudioControl is launching two new lines of RCA cables, power wire and amplifier installation kits, marking the brand’s first move into wire and accessories under the Stinger family. The lines were previewed exclusively during a livestream with Five Star Car Stereo’s Dean and Fernando, joined by AudioControl’s Matthew Palumbo.
The Epic Series pairs with AudioControl’s Epic amplifiers and targets a value price point. The Studio Series is the higher end line, built to match AudioControl’s Altitude and LC7i Pro products.
Epic Series details:
- RCA cables in two through six channel configurations, in lengths from 1.5 feet to 20 feet
- Amplifier wiring kits in 8 gauge, 4 gauge and 1/0 gauge
- 100% OFC cable, not CCA
- No plastic bridge between channels, so cables can be split and run separately
- Directional RCAs with a ground shunt built in to route noise away from the amplifier
- One year warranty across the line, matching the Epic amplifier warranty
Studio Series details:
- RCA cables in two, four and six channel configurations, plus Y adapters, in the same length range as Epic
- A reversible fuse and distribution module, similar in concept to the Stinger XLink, that can be configured as a fuse holder, ground block or power distribution block and linked together for larger builds
- Kits include an install accessories pack with heat shrink, ferrules, ring terminals and mounting hardware
- Two ground cables per kit, one sized for the amplifier location and one shorter cable for chassis or engine bay grounding
- The fuse module accepts both MIDI/AFS style and ANL style fuses
- Warranty coverage increases with installation. Retail purchase carries a one year warranty. Dealer installation extends coverage to two years. Installation using AudioControl wire with dealer installation extends coverage to three years
Matthew said the Epic and Studio lines were developed in house rather than rebranded from existing Stinger RCA stock. Dealers had asked AudioControl for a wire line as far back as 2019, he said, but early concepts did not meet the company’s standards and were shelved.
AudioControl has no current plans to sell the wire on spools. Matthew said kits will remain the only option at launch unless dealer demand changes that. The lines are not replacing existing Stinger wire products, which remain unchanged.
Product is expected to arrive in AudioControl’s warehouse in mid to late August, with retail availability following within about a week.
