After originally offering an iconic ultra waterproof single DIN head unit for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Aquatic AV recently launched a double DIN version for later model Harleys (up to years 2023 and 2024).
The new 7-inch HR400 deck, at $799, offers wireless CarPlay but skips Android Auto, although that is likely to be added later, according to Aquatic rep Phil Chartier of The 12Volt Specialist. The deck integrates seamlessly with Harley factory handlebar controls and it does not require an external integration module, says Aquatic AV.
The radio has an IPX6 water resistance rating for its faceplate, which means it can withstand high pressure water jets from any direction.
The new HR400 includes USB charging, AM/FM radio, Bluetooth and “premium sound.” The RCA ouputs can be played at full output with no clipping, Chartier said.
The radio also has two analog output triggers for controlling two devices through the radio face such as auxiliary lighting or a DSP (for changing curves), added Chartier.
The HR400 is compatible with the 2014-2023 Street Glide/Ultra Glide, 2015-2023 Road Glide and 2015-2024 Tri Glide Ultra and Road Glide 3.

Aquatic currently offers a Neo 6.5 inch speaker and a new 6×9 speaker will be due in the next 60 days. Additionally, a “big power” amplifier for Harley is due in 45 to 60 days.
Aquatic was one of the first companies to offer a radio for Harley motorcycles about 14 years ago, said Chartier.
