Morel ships its first car audio DSP amplifiers

Morel recently began shipping its first line of DSP/amplifiers, the MDSP series.

The amps are compact and designed to improve factory audio. They are linkable with a Morel cable and you can bridge the high power channels on the 6 and 8 channel to achieve 320 watts at 2 or 4 ohms, said a spokesman.

The line of four models accepts up to 8 channels of speaker-level input (up to 30V) and provides up to 10 DSP-controlled output channels, including 2V RCA low-level outputs.

The DSP/amplifiers carry RMS output ratings of up to 80W x 4 and 160W x 4 at 4 ohms.  They include full DSP-managed RCA outputs.  Digital signal processing includes input EQ correction, global EQ, graphic and parametric equalization, adjustable crossovers, and precise per-channel tuning.

MDSP DSP/amps use high grade internal components including premium capacitors, resistors, and signal-path parts and a high resolution DSP.

Tuning is performed via an app on a laptop (PC only) via USB connection.

Models include the MDSP10/8A at a street price of $1,399, MDSP8/6A at $1099, MDSP8/4A at $799 and MDSP6/4A at a $299 street price.
