Focal has launched a new car audio speaker line using its Slatefiber cones, which are made in France.
Focal says the Slatefiber technology, used in home audio “is already acclaimed in home hi-fi and professional audio.”
Slatefiber cones were first introduced in car audio in 2022 and the company will now offer a broader selection of six models, to cover most installs.
Slatefiber consists of non-woven recycled carbon fiber combined with a polymer, to deliver “rigidity, lightness and
damping — the three essential properties required for high-precision sound reproduction,” said Focal. It produces an energetic and neutral sound, Focal said.
The new line includes a 3-way 6.5-inch component set and two 2-way component sets, a 6.5-inch coaxial kit and a 2.5 inch mid range driver plus an 8 inch subwoofer.
Shipping is planned for May.
