DS18 has introduced Project 360, a twist and click re-cone system that replaces a speaker cone in under 10 seconds without tools.
It is the first in-field re-cone solution based on a twisting mechanism rather than typical bolting, screwing, or adhesive based re-cone systems.
Announced April 1st via YouTube, and shipping now, the system is the result of two years of development, said DS18.
The company surveyed its dealers asking, “What are your biggest pain points today?” Every dealer replied “warranty/service!” it said. The 360 Project was created specifically to solve these issues. Why is warranty or service a pain point for dealers? Service related labor, shipping, and carrying costs add up quickly.
“For dealers, warranty is a money-losing situation,” said DS18’s Rob Ferro. “With this mounting system, it takes under 10 seconds to change a speaker. We reduced shipping, labor, and carrying costs of warranty with Project 360.”
The system also has an environmental component. Replacing only the cone rather than the entire speaker reduces the carbon footprint and return shipping costs without passing additional cost to the customer.
