Mobile Solutions has launched an “Engineered Panel System” and grille service to turn subwoofer enclosures into customized designs. Called FabKit, it lets you add layered 3D styling to a subwoofer box, saving 8 to 10 hours in custom work.
Dealers can order one of four machined grille panels and, from there, choose a finish in leather, suede, or vinyl. The panels are designed to fit most boxes for three 8-inch woofers up to two 12-inch subwoofers. These work with most sedans and SUVs. Additional applications will be available in the future.
“This would take a day or day and a half to make. It’s a custom cover that would cosmetically make the sub box look perfect and like a custom install. It’s like making a panel with intricate curves and material tolerances with magnetic fasteners to hold it together,” said Mobile Solutions’ Bryan Schmitt.
“Too many shops avoid custom work because they believe it’s not profitable. FabKit increases efficiency, raises consistency, and gives shops the freedom to focus on generating revenue instead of sanding and routing for hours. Wrap it in material, install it, and you’re done,” said Schmitt.
Dealers, distributors, or enthusiasts may order, but there is protected pricing for dealers and distributors.
FabKit Speaker Grille Panel Systems are available in four configurations:
