Window Tint School mourns loss of instructor

The Window Tint School community is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Phillip Albritton, a beloved instructor, mentor, and friend to countless students across the tinting industry. Many knew him simply—and warmly—as Uncle Phil. His unexpected passing leaves a void not only in those who worked beside him, but in the students whose careers and
confidence he helped build.

Phillip was renowned for his clean, meticulous work. He could lay a piece of film with effortless grace, then turn and teach the process step-by-step to someone who had never held a squeegee before. His instruction went beyond technique—he taught patience, pride, and purpose.

But Phillip didn’t just teach people how to tint windows. He helped change lives. His students left with more than skill—they left with belief in themselves, the start of careers, and the tools to build futures. His influence can be seen in shops across the country, in installers proudly working today because Phillip once stood behind them, guiding their hands and building their confidence.

In class, he was part instructor, part mentor, and part prankster. He loved to laugh. He loved to joke in the bay and had a gift for keeping learning fun, even when challenges were frustrating. Many memories of Phillip will be of him smiling, laughing, or helping someone finally master their first back window.

Phillip was taken far too soon. The tint world—and our school family—will not be the same without him. We invite former students, peers, and friends to share memories and stories so Phillip’s family can see the impact he made on this community.

If you trained with Uncle Phil, please share what you learned or a moment you’ll never forget.

Rest in peace, Phillip Albritton.

Thank you for everything you gave to this craft, to this school, and to every one of us who had the privilege to learn from you.
