At the 2025 SEMA Show, Retrosound will display two new radios targeted at the older European car market, a shallow subwoofer designed for the challenges of classic vehicles, and a solution for 1950s vehicles with a 6-volt charging system.
RetroSound has updated its Europa DIN Radio, first introduced in 2023, with a redesigned integrated shaft system aimed at simplifying installation.

The new shaft design enables faster assembly and improved fitment in standard DIN openings. This eliminates the need to repair or modify metal dashboards that have been cut from their original configuration.
The Europa targets 1960s and 1970s European vehicles. The unit maintains period-correct styling elements, including push-button controls, replica knobs, and pinstripe detailing that replicate OEM radio aesthetics from that era.
Features include Bluetooth connectivity for wireless audio streaming and hands-free calling, USB and auxiliary input options, and an updated integrated amplifier.

RetroSound is also shipping the R-TW84, an 8-inch shallow-mount subwoofer that addresses space constraints in vintage vehicles.
The subwoofer measures 2 inches in mounting depth and operates in sealed enclosures from 0.12 to 1 cubic foot, making it suitable for under-seat, behind-seat, and custom installations where standard subwoofer dimensions are impractical.
Construction features include a cast aluminum basket, neodymium magnet assembly, and a polypropylene cone with Santoprene surround. The R-TW84 is rated at 250 watts RMS (500 watts peak) with 4-ohm impedance.
The shallow-mount category continues to grow in the classic car segment, where owners increasingly demand modern bass performance without compromising interior space or requiring extensive fabrication.

RetroSound has also announced the Traffic Single DIN Radio, the newest product in its DIN Solutions lineup targeting the European classic car market.
The Traffic Radio addresses European vehicles manufactured between the 1980s and early 2000s with period-correct styling and features including Bluetooth, an AM/FM RDS tuner with 30-station memory, and a variable-color display that can be adjusted to match factory dashboard illumination. Shipping is planned for December.

RetroSound has also released the RS-CNVRTR, a voltage converter enabling installation of modern 12-volt audio equipment in classic vehicles with original 6-volt electrical systems.
The converter addresses a longstanding challenge in the vintage vehicle market: upgrading audio systems without rewiring or converting the entire electrical system to 12 volts. Classic car owners can now install modern head units and accessories while maintaining original 6-volt infrastructure.
The RS-CNVRTR is designed for negative-ground 6-volt systems, which represent the majority of post-1950s vehicles originally equipped with 6-volt electrical systems. It is compatible with RetroSound’s full line of head units and can power other 12-volt accessories within its 10-amp capacity.
Technical Specifications:
- Input Voltage: 6V (negative ground systems only)
- Output Voltage: 12V
- Maximum Output Current: 10 amps continuous
- Activation: Ignition-switched (prevents parasitic drain)
- Thermal Management: Automatic voltage reduction during overheating
- Mounting: Wall-mount compatible, compact footprint
- Manufacturing: German-engineered components
The ignition-switched design prevents battery drain when the vehicle is not in use. Built-in thermal protection safeguards both the converter and connected devices during extended use, as voltage converters typically generate significant heat during operation.
