Modus to launch its first car audio line in October.

Modus, a new full line supplier from head units to subwoofers, will begin its long-awaited roll out next month.

The mid- to upscale car audio products are expected to ship in mid to late October. Modus marine products will start to ship around the end of October. The full rollout will be completed by the end of Q1 2026, said Matt Delgado, Director of Sales.

The company also announced the appointment of a manufacturer’s rep network for Modus (see below).  Some territories are still open.

Pricing for the line, with a number of new technical innovations, will be officially announced later in October, said Delgado.

Generally speaking, head units will start at around $699 and go up beyond $1,000 using high quality digital to audio converters, true HD resolution screens and other high end parts, said Modus. The decks will be updatable so features may be added in the future.  Features expected include wireless and wired CarPlay/Android Auto, high speed processing, HD Radio, Maestro and SiriusXM.

10-inch and 7-inch decks will ship at the end of October followed by 12- and 15-inch decks at the end of Q4.

The head units will include optically bonded screens for better viewing, HDMI inputs, Toslink, high voltage outputs and other features.

One series of amplifiers will offer technology called “current averaging” for greater efficiency.  The amplifiers take in power, step it up, and store it internally so they can feed it to outputs when needed. If the amplifier is playing at lower levels, it stores power.  This is different from boosted rail technology, said the company.

The three amplifier series will start at $500. More details will follow.

Marine products will include good, better, best lines in radios, coaxial speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers. Tower speakers and some accessories will follow along with a high end radio.  Current averaging will be available in a premium marine amplifier line, offering more efficiency.

The car audio line is divided into three tiers: Apex for premium performance, Mezzo for innovative technology integration, and Portale for value-added quality.
