Press Release: HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA–Industry veterans JT Torres and Andy Garcia are hosting a Subwoofer Enclosure Training – “Bass Maker Factory” to teach how to make ultra-efficient subwoofer enclosures.
The training will be held in conjunction with suppliers Trulli Audio, dB Drive, Peel 3D and AmplifyAM from September 5-7 in Huntington Beach, CA.
JT Torres, former Installer of the Year Award recipient, 2024 KnowledgeFest presenter and owner of Automotive Entertainment OC will lead the classes alongside Andy Garcia, who is known as a top competitor on the SPL and SQ circuits and who is currently the trainer for dB Drive Mexico. Additionally, Dennis Barnes, the man who helped build Alma Gates’ original PPI Bronco system, will present at the event.
Industry members from Chicago, Texas, California, Arizona and Mexico are signed up for the classes. They will be assigned a car on Day 1 of the training, where each group builds a subwoofer enclosure of any type– sealed, ported or bandpass etc. After the enclosures are finished, each vehicle will then be tested on a Term-Lab SPL measuring device, establishing a base line SPL number, for example 140.2 dB.
Over the next two days, teams will try new enclosure types to increase their vehicle’s SPL score. Teams can use any tools available on site, including 3D printers and CNC machines. The winners will receive a coveted “1728” T-shirt, only available through the BMF training!
Attendees will learn to maximize output and performance from sealed, vented, and 4th-order bandpass enclosures, gaining insights normally reserved for competition teams and elite installers. The classes will cover advanced design theory, material selection, port and chamber optimization, airflow management, and tuning techniques that deliver peak performance without sacrificing sound quality.
