A new study found that teens spend about a fifth of their driving time glancing at their phones!
Gen Z drivers spend an average of 21.1 percent of each trip viewing their phone. About 25 percent of that time is a glance of two seconds or longer, an interval known to increase risk of a crash.
Sixty-five percent of the glances are spent viewing entertainment, 40 percent texting and 30 percent on navigation.
The findings by Mass General Brigham questioned over 1,100 teen drivers in the US.
The results were published in the journal Traffic Injury Prevention.
