BMW Goes All In on Dashwide Display at End of Year

BMW announced its panoramic dash-wide screen with go into production at the end of the year.

BMW announced at CES that its panoramic screen will go into production at the end of the year and roll out on all BMW models thereafter.

The display runs from pillar to pillar and can give users a 3D effect that, unlike an HUD, may still be seen with sunglasses, said Road & Track.

Gauge cluster info displays in front of the driver and the rest of the screen is customizable.

There’s also a separate tablet like touchscreen display on the dash with controls for climate settings, CarPlay/Android Auto and other key controls.

BMW also announced a new HypersonX sound experience in the Neue Klasse models. It appears to be sound cue used in the vehicle.  BMW wrote, “…it comprises 43 sound signals and special driving sounds for Personal Mode and Sport Mode. The multi-dimensional spectrum adapts the sounds precisely to the driving situation at hand and, in so doing, creates an emotional interaction between the driver and their BMW.”
