Audio Dynamics has been expanding beyond its long-time domain in premium sound quality product into SPL and motorcycle audio products.
It launched a line of SPL products last year followed by a line of motorcycle products earlier this year.
SPL products include an X series of amplifiers at 4,000, 8,000 and 12,000 watts RMS and a 6000 series of subwoofers including a model that handles 4,000 watts RMS.
The X series amplifiers are “overbuilt,” with larger MOSFETs and better parts for best in class performance, says Kevin Holden of Vault Marketing, manufacturer’s rep for Audio Dynamics.
In motorcycle audio, the company now has a full line of pro audio compression horn drivers and compact amplifiers that fit into a motorcycle faring. All are water resistant and conformal coated. The line includes a compact water resistant AD DSP1200.8AT DSP/amplifier with 8 channels and a 150 watt RMS amp at 2 ohms. The DSP1200.8AT also features auto-tuning capability with a mic sold separately.
In its sound quality line, the company also shipped this year a 5 channel amplifier, model SD2400.5 rated at 1,500 watts RMS on the subwoofer channel at 1 ohm and 4 x 230 watts RMS at 2 ohms. It offers high quality internal parts including click-in-place potentiometers for accurate placement of crossovers. It includes low pass, high pass, or bandpass filters and conformal coating so it may be used in marine applications. Retail price is $799.
