Ford issued a Customer Satisfaction Program (update to a feature or extension to a warranty) to upgrade SYNC.
The notice, announced at the end of July, is designed to fix instability issues in SYNC which can lead to the screen going black in certain vehicles. It also fixes problems such as erased radio presets or the inability to perform software updates, said Ford Authority.
Those with affected vehicles can take them into the local dealer for a free software update.
Vehicles impacted include Ford F150 (2019-2020), Ford Super Duty (2020-2022), Ford Ranger (2019-2020), Bronco Sport (2021-2024), Escape (2020-2022) and more. For a full list, see Ford Authority.
