QPower is offering its first vehicle-specific line of console subwoofer enclosures.
The enclosures replace the center console of the vehicle and add space for a woofer as well as tweeter and midrange drivers in a sealed enclosure. (The woofer is separated from the other components). The customer loses the cubby space for the console, but the boxes include cup holder spaces and a place to park a cellphone.
The enclosures, under QPower’s QBomb line, are sprayed with bedliner and will carry an end user price of about $299.
Custom boxes are available for the following:
FORD F150 2015-2023
GMC CREW CAB 2007- 2013
GMC CREW CAB 2014- 2018
A universal enclosure is also available.
QPower’s Matt Bund said despite higher prices since the pandemic, consumers are opting for higher end boxes, finished in bedliner, rather than the older carpeted boxes which may run $40 or $50 lower in price.
He believes the market may have shifted during COVID when enclosures from China were not available, so consumers were forced to move up to bedliner products and the trend caught on.
During the pandemic, the price of wood soared by 300 percent causing prices to rise. QPower has announced multiple price reductions since then but the cost of wood remains about 15 to 25 percent higher than prior to the pandemic, Bund said.
QPower is also releasing traditional enclosures for Jeep Gladiator and the Toyota Tundra Crew Max.
