Robert Hough runs a 5-star rated shop near Chicago, but due to a health problem, he needs to sell the store or find someone to run it/install while he recovers.
Hough opened Car Audio & Security, Oak Lawn, IL four years ago, after working out of his garage since 2008. Unfortunately Hough is undergoing surgery for cancer Tuesday and he may be out of work for months as he recovers.
Like many other shops, Car Audio & Security has been unable to find reliable help to assist in running the store, despite trying to do so for the last three years. So, at this point, Hough’s looking for an installer to take over, or someone to buy the business.
Car Audio & Security has 5 Axis displays and a wood working area with a table saw and router. It carries brands including Kicker, Sony, Audio Dynamics, K40, Viper, and Author Alarm. It is located in an industrial area and its overhead is less than $2,500/month, said Hough. “You only have to work 20 hours a week to cover that.”
“I’d hate for the business to just disappear…all the work that went into the good reviews. It would be good for someone currently doing side work out of their home. Someone who wants to move up. I may have a long recovery time,” he said.
The store has a 5 star rating on Yelp with 75 reviews.
“Having an installer would be great. Someone to buy the business would be even better or someone working towards buying the business,” Hough added.
