He played an invaluable role in the brand’s flagship speaker development, including the highly-regarded Pioneer (Technical Audio Devices) speakers, which favorites among audiophiles for their exceptional sound quality and performance. Jones has received many awards and accolades for his meticulous attention to detail, scientific approach to speaker design and deep understanding of acoustics. He shares many ‘can’t miss’ tidbits on the podcast that align with his philosophy for delivering exceptional sound quality and an affordable price. Jones believes high-fidelity audio should be accessible to a broad audience when he considers design parameters. About The Old Fashioned Car Audio Podcast and the hosts

Now in its third season, The Old Fashioned Car Audio Podcast was created by Gary Bell and Matt Schaeffer in 2020 as a way to continue their tradition of hanging out at the hotel bar during trade show events and sharing stories about building high-end car audio systems. The podcast has featured numerous industry icons, fabricators, technicians, business owners and others from the 12 Volt Aftermarket or adjacent custom automotive circles.

 

Gary Bell is the owner and founder of Define Concepts, LLC in Orange, CA. He brings over 30 years of experience in the aftermarket automotive sector, including building show and demonstration vehicles for major car audio companies. Among his many skills is blending computer-aided design and old-world craftsmanship to deliver rapid prototypes to the automotive world. He is a respected figure in the industry and has presented training sessions at numerous trade shows.

 

Matt Schaeffer is both ASE and MECP Master certified (now known as Expert) and is the lead fabricator at Musiac Design in Lewes, DE. He specializes in designing and building premium in-vehicle entertainment systems for clientele who share a passion for audio and vehicle personalization. Many of his projects have been featured in magazines around the world. Matt also has a YouTube channel where he creates a detailed build summary and overview of each special project he completes.
