Alpine SiriusXM 360L

Alpine (Alps Alpine North America) released the free software update that adds SiriusXM 360L to many Alpine radios.  This makes Alpine the first aftermarket head unit company to offer the feature that combines streaming radio and satellite radio.

The update is compatible with Alpine decks including the Halo11 iLX-F511, Halo9 iLX-F509, iLX-507, and Jeep-specific head units i509-WRA-JL and i509-WRA-JK.

360L merges SiriusXM with Pandora streaming, so if you ask the Alpine unit to play Dave Matthews, it will show you the satellite radio channels that typically play the band and then you can launch a streaming station for Dave Matthews on Pandora (you’ll need a WiFi connection from a phone or other hotspot for streaming).

360L also shows extra streaming channels that typically play Dave Matthews and any related live concerts recorded on SiriusXM, or podcast interviews on Stitcher.  (See a demo here).

In all, 360L delivers more SiriusXM channels (350+), SiriusXM’s Pandora Stations, “For You” recommendations, recorded on demand content and podcasts.

Alpine’s head units will also allow for more than one listener profile so multiple passengers and drivers can have their own personalized stations.

The software update also renders the radios compatible with full over-the-air updates in the future (no USB required).  It also adds other radio corrections and updates as shown here.
