Here we report two changes among 12 volt executives–one at Car Toys, and one at the relative new brand in the US, MUSWAY.
Gregg Thomas has left Car Toys, the 50-store chain, where he was Vice President of Merchandising. He had served at the company for about 3 1/2 years and left effective December 31, 2022. He has not yet been replaced and had not announced taking a new position as of Thursday.
Thomas is a leader in 12 volt merchandising. He has held other high level posts in the past, including at SiriusXM for over 8 years where he was Director of Business Alliances–Distribution, In-Vehicle & Accessories, CE Division.
Chris Bennett, formerly Vice President of Sales at AudioControl has taken the post of VP Sales at MUSWAY through its US distributor Global Audio Marketing. Bennett said his 30 years in the 12 volt market makes him a good fit for MUSWAY, which entered the US about 2 1/2 years ago with a focus on digital signal processors (DSPs) and DSP amplifiers. It will exhibit at KnowledgeFest next month in Las Vegas for the first time.
“The brand is really a dream come true for me. My last 30 years and education in 12 volt can be impactful at MUSWAY,” said Bennett, adding the aim is to build the brand, while continuing to focus on specialist retailers. “We have no intention of growing the line through online etailing or third party marketplace selling.”
Bennett left AudioControl about a year ago, where he served for 7 years and was Director of Mobile Audio. He has jumped around at a few positions since then, before joining MUSWAY. Prior to AudioControl, Bennett was at Metra for 8 years, serving eventually as National Key Account Manager. He also ran his own store for 6 years called Audio Habitat in California.
