Race Sport Lighting will ship in November a new series of cutting edge LED bulbs for vehicles with projector-type headlights.
When a typical LED is placed in a projector light housing the beam will be compromised and it will burn out prematurely. So typically, only HID bulbs are used in this type of housing.
The company’s new P-Series LED kits are designed to avoid all the above compatibility problems and directly replace the OEM bulb in a projector headlight.
Projector headlights are found on 30 to 40 percent of the cars on the road, said Race Sport.
The 60-watt LEDs work for low and high beams, with improved distance projection and a “100 percent perfect beam pattern in the projector and down the road,” said Race Sport.
The kits are packaged with optional plug-n-play canbus decoders for complex canbus–enabled vehicles that may require it. They carry general suggested retail prices of $214.
Specifications include:
Voltage = DC 9V-32V
Beam Angle: = 360°
Lumen (lm) = 9,500LM
Raw LUX (Lx) = 3,950lx/bulb (7,900lx/kit)
