SiriusXM is offering a vehicle crash warning alert feature that is now included in Uconnect for Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram and Alfa Romeo models.
The SiriusXM Guardian service connects drivers to a live agent if the airbags deploy. It also now digitally links your vehicle and crash data directly to 911 for quicker notification. Also, now more data can be sent to 911 operators about the crash and its severity.
The service connects users to over 4,800 emergency centers covering more than 92percent of the US population.
With the new ability to digitally transmit information to the emergency services, the response time of emergency workers is improved and there’s less risk of communication error, said SiriusXM.
The satellite radio provider said, “While at this time there aren’t plans for an aftermarket solution, we look forward to announcing further vehicle availability in the near future.”
Service packages vary from $13.99 to $25.98.
